Running on the seawall

Today was such a great day weather wise that I decided to go running on the sea wall and that was a different experience to say the least...I have not ran outside in so long that I felt out of shape all over again....It was somewhat funny but the big man got through it......

Missing my Babies

I've been in Iwakuni for about 4 months now and this tour is not getting any easier but my family is really showing a lot of support while I'm here. I cannot wait until September, when I go home for a visit.

Tough Day...

Today has been a tough one.  Terry and I spent the day trying to make it seem like any other day but we both knew that his departure and travel to Japan was going to begin this evening.  It was tough but it was nice not to spend the whole day focused on the sad moments to come.  So, we did normal stuff like out for breakfast, a quick pit stop at the library, and Madelyn's softball practice.
I am not sure if taking Madelyn to the airport was a good idea.  I think it really hit her what "my dad going to Japan" means...and it overwhelmed her.  This made the send off a little more difficult than I thought it would be but I was able to calm her down and get her back into her normal routine when we got home.
Terry will first head to Seattle (he should almost be there) and then from there he will take  military flight to Iwakuni Japan.  He should touch down there tomorrow mid day for most of us.  It'll be Saturday in Japan.  They are about 17 hours ahead of us.

Terry's new home...MCAS Iwakuni

It's been a sad day but we are finally able to put it to bed and deal with tomorrow has to bring.
Love you and be well.

Love my Girls

Even though Daddy will be gone on his journey, he will still think about his girls back in San Diego, so don't you girls forget that.....

Crazy Saturday

Man, it was a crazy day today.  The weather was so crazy.  Here in Southern California you expect rain during the winter, but I never expected hail.  It was absolutely unbelievable to see hail in San Diego.  Now, before anyone goes getting too excited in was only pea sized, but it's San Diego, CA a place it barely ever even rains.

We braved the rain for Madelyn's softball opening ceremony.  Madelyn and her fellow Blue Dragons had such a great time today with pictures, opening ceremony and the banner contest.
As you can see from the photo Madelyn had a great time!  Check out that sweet uniform.  I just love the colors... they remind me a lot of Michigan colors. :)  Go Blue!

Tomorrow's agenda is our final family picture for the next few months. :(  We wanted to be sure we got some great family photos for Terry before he leaves for Japan this week.

We are really going to miss him, but duty calls. Love you!

It's Softball Time

This week marks the official start of Madelyn's softball season.  Opening Day activities including pictures will be this weekend (I sure hope the weather holds up).  Games will begin next week.

Madelyn is playing on an 8 & Under team with many of the girls from last year.  To the best of our knowledge she is the youngest on her team at 6. :)  Go Madelyn!

I think Madelyn's team, the Blue Dragons, are ready to play and compete with the other teams in Valley Mesa as well as the other leagues.

Go Blue Dragons!!
